Weekend share...

Good evening! Hope you have all had a great weekend! I thought i would pop on tonight just to share a couple of the things iv been upto this weekend. first of all one of my resolutions this year was to get my butt in gear and get into shape, well yesterday i joined Weight Watchers and attended my first meeting! I was given a little folder with all the items in it for counting the points and working them out for myself and i am really enjoying the variety of things i can eat. Tomorrow i will be poping into town to get some freezable pots so i can make spicy tomato and butternut soup which is one of the recepies (and has zero points) to take to work with me. I also aim to try and work out at least twice a week at home (i have a workout dvd which i will be trying to do) and maybe try to go running but will see how that one works out as the last time i tried that i didnt even get to the bottom of the street before stopping!

Anyway to the crafting, i have made two things this weekend inbetween watching youtube videos (which i think i am slightly addicted to) the first project i have made is a card for my little sisters birthday which is at the end of the month, she is going to be 23. I used 2 stamp sets which i got at the NEC back in Nov form the Lili of the Valley stand, i love love love their stamps and plan to buy more this year, when i saw this stamp i fel in love with it straight away and i knew that it would be perfect for my sisters card.

I stamped the image in black ink and used my promarkers to colour it in. I then took my only set of nestabilities (sorry dont have the packaging with me to say which one) and cut it out and also cut out the larger and embossed both around the edges. The purple cardstock is from Crafters Companions pastel card pack and i also used it to matt the two front panels. The patterned paper was printed from a free CD which i had with a magazine, i wasnt too sure of it at first but decided to use it anyway and i am really pleased with it.
I then took some ribbon which i got at Hobbycraft and put a piece down the centre of each panel before attaching them to the card. I then attached the topper and embellished with some flowers which were all from Hobbycraft.

On the other side of the gate fold i attached the sentiment which i absolutly love and also a small bow which i made using my ultimate pro and attached with a glue dot.

For the inside i matted some of the same pattened paper with the same purple cardstock and added a white piece of card matted onto purple with a greeting as i thought it looked very plain just left. I absolutly love this card and think it is one of the best i have created since i started making cards i just hope my sister likes it too!

Next we move onto a wall hanging that i have made for my daughter, this is the first time i have tried to do something like this and was inspired after watching a video on youtube by GreenScrapinMachine http://www.youtube.com/user/GreenScrapinMachine. She used coasters to do hers but i decided to use old cds that i had lying around.

First of all i decided that i was going to put Izzy instead of Isabelle as it would have been far too big and i also decided to have two extra cds for a picture and a phrase. I decided to use my new Rock Princess cartridge for the cricut and some black and red DCWV textured cardstock i got from the sale at Hobbycraft.

We decided for the first cd that we would use the diamond motif which was cut out at 3 1/2 inches.

I then cut out Izzy at 3 inches real dial size using the font on the cartridge and stuck to each cd.

Lastly i cut out the punk princess phrase which was cut at 2 inches and attached it to the last cd, as you can see it was slightly longer than the cd but i love how it looks and izzy cant wait to have it hanging in her room!

Wow that was a long post! Its late here and i have work in the morning so im off to get my beauty sleep lol.
Thanks for stopping by!
Sam
