Ok so the last time i posted something was back in May, what in the world have i been doing! Well not much really except working!

I have recently started making my christmas cards, yes i know its only September but last year i left them all to the last minute and i'm determined not to do the same this year! I got a new Woodware stamp set and Dovecraft paperpacks from a new craft shop that opened in town so am trying to stick to using just those for all my cards this year, love how they are turning out so far and will post a pic once i take some!

Well im off to start getting things ready for madams first day back at school tomorrow, cant believe she will be going into year 2 where has the time gone!

Birthday card and bag charm

On friday night i went out to the resturant Made in Thai to celebrate a friends birthday and we had such a blast! I decided that i would make a simple handbag charm for her which she loved along with the card i made her. For the card i used a Lili of the Valley stamp which i adore and a sentiment from them aswell. I coloured the stamp in with my Promarkers amd added glitter to the feather boa.

National Scrapbook Day Challenge #5

So i decided to have a go at another challenge, challenge #5 for the MPS National Scrapbook Day. This challenge was to create any 3D item or to add a 3D item to a page or a card, well for a while now i have wanted to decorate some mache letters for Izzy's room so i had Philip take me to Hobbycraft to grab a few supplies! I grabbed the letters to spell out Izzy, some pink acrylic paint and some patterned paper. I painted the back and the sides of all the letters and then glued on the patterned paper, then i covered them in mod podge and stuck on a large flower i brought and some paper and tulle flowers i made. Izzy totally loves them and i cant wait to make some more!

My Pink Stampers National Scrapbook Day Challenge 1!

Ok so i have been MIA from here for quite a while i have just been sooooo busy lately with different things but im back now and today i will taking part in My Pink Stampers National Scrapbook Day challenges! So the first challenge over on MPS is anything cupcake, it could be anything from a card to a scrapbook layout to cupcakes themselves! I have decided on making a card, much to Izzy's disapointment that we are not making actual cupcakes. I decided to use a stamp which i got free with Creativity magazine and then just some patterned paper which is where i pulled the colours from to colour in the stamp. I used my Promarkers to colour the cupcakes in and then added some pink sparkley ribbon to finish it off.

After taking the pictures i then decided to add some glossy accents to the cherries and the strawberry mmmmm...... I love cupcakes!

Weekend share...

Good evening! Hope you have all had a great weekend! I thought i would pop on tonight just to share a couple of the things iv been upto this weekend. first of all one of my resolutions this year was to get my butt in gear and get into shape, well yesterday i joined Weight Watchers and attended my first meeting! I was given a little folder with all the items in it for counting the points and working them out for myself and i am really enjoying the variety of things i can eat. Tomorrow i will be poping into town to get some freezable pots so i can make spicy tomato and butternut soup which is one of the recepies (and has zero points) to take to work with me. I also aim to try and work out at least twice a week at home (i have a workout dvd which i will be trying to do) and maybe try to go running but will see how that one works out as the last time i tried that i didnt even get to the bottom of the street before stopping!

Anyway to the crafting, i have made two things this weekend inbetween watching youtube videos (which i think i am slightly addicted to) the first project i have made is a card for my little sisters birthday which is at the end of the month, she is going to be 23. I used 2 stamp sets which i got at the NEC back in Nov form the Lili of the Valley stand, i love love love their stamps and plan to buy more this year, when i saw this stamp i fel in love with it straight away and i knew that it would be perfect for my sisters card.

I stamped the image in black ink and used my promarkers to colour it in. I then took my only set of nestabilities (sorry dont have the packaging with me to say which one) and cut it out and also cut out the larger and embossed both around the edges. The purple cardstock is from Crafters Companions pastel card pack and i also used it to matt the two front panels. The patterned paper was printed from a free CD which i had with a magazine, i wasnt too sure of it at first but decided to use it anyway and i am really pleased with it.
I then took some ribbon which i got at Hobbycraft and put a piece down the centre of each panel before attaching them to the card. I then attached the topper and embellished with some flowers which were all from Hobbycraft.

On the other side of the gate fold i attached the sentiment which i absolutly love and also a small bow which i made using my ultimate pro and attached with a glue dot.

For the inside i matted some of the same pattened paper with the same purple cardstock and added a white piece of card matted onto purple with a greeting as i thought it looked very plain just left. I absolutly love this card and think it is one of the best i have created since i started making cards i just hope my sister likes it too!

Next we move onto a wall hanging that i have made for my daughter, this is the first time i have tried to do something like this and was inspired after watching a video on youtube by GreenScrapinMachine http://www.youtube.com/user/GreenScrapinMachine. She used coasters to do hers but i decided to use old cds that i had lying around.

First of all i decided that i was going to put Izzy instead of Isabelle as it would have been far too big and i also decided to have two extra cds for a picture and a phrase. I decided to use my new Rock Princess cartridge for the cricut and some black and red DCWV textured cardstock i got from the sale at Hobbycraft.

We decided for the first cd that we would use the diamond motif which was cut out at 3 1/2 inches.

I then cut out Izzy at 3 inches real dial size using the font on the cartridge and stuck to each cd.

Lastly i cut out the punk princess phrase which was cut at 2 inches and attached it to the last cd, as you can see it was slightly longer than the cd but i love how it looks and izzy cant wait to have it hanging in her room!

Wow that was a long post! Its late here and i have work in the morning so im off to get my beauty sleep lol.
Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas cards...

Here are the cards that i made for my partner and our little girl for christmas. The first card is the one i made for Izzy, i used a fairy stamp which i actually got free with a magazine and i coloured it in with my promarkers. I then took a gatefold card blank and covered both the two flaps in gold mirror card and a sheet of my minds eye patterned paper and i also attached some of the same paper on the inside. For the topper i also attached some gold mirror card behind and attached it to the front with a smaller peice of card for the happy christmas which was a gold peel off.

This card was for Phil, he likes simple cards so i decided to attach a piece of pattened paper from the same paper pack as izzys card, i then cut a reindeer from the christmas cartridge on my gypsy then i handwrote 'to my deer' and attached it some black card stock behind it.

Hope you have all had a great day.

Happy New Year and resolutions

So i know im a bit late saying happy new year but the start to my new year came along with a cold which made me take to just lying on the sofa with izzy being looked after by phil (honestly i was ill) i have not felt like going anywhere near my craft room which really needs sorting out. I have however been thinking of my resolutions for this year, i have been taking inspiration from some of the fab blogs that i follow and have decided on the following:

1. I will try to update my blog every other day even if i have not had time to make anything i will try to stop by and tell you how my day has been.

2. Make at least 2 projects a week.

3. Have a go at scropbooking (soon to be parents in law got me a scrapbook kit for xmas).

4. Get in shape, yes i know this is not craft related but i have not been happy with myself for a while so this is going to be the year i sort it out and i want to be in perfect shape for my wedding!

So those are my resolutions for this year and i am going to make sure i try my hardest to keep them all!

Also when i have managed to find my lead for my camera i will upload the cards that i made for phil and izzy, unfortunatly i forgot to take pictures of all the others i made oops.

Anyway madam is making lots fo noise upstairs when she should be asleep so i will be back soon with either a card iv made or an update.

Love to you all

Sam
